Helsinki University Library

The other day I dragged my husband to Helsinki to watch Pacific Rim. We had some time before the movie, so we went to... a library!
На днях я потащила мужа в Хельсинки смотреть «Тихоокеанский рубеж». До показа оставалось немного времени, и мы решили провести его в... библиотеке!

The Helsinki University Main Library in Kaisa House.
Главная библиотека Университета Хельсинки в Доме Кайса.

This is a huge library with books in so many languages. Next time I'll have to spend a whole day there. :D
Это огромная библиотека с книгами на множестве языков. В следующий раз придётся провести там целый день. :D

Of course there are elevators there, but I enjoyed running up those stairs.
Конечно, там есть лифты, но мне понравилось носиться по лестнице.

Spaceship?
Космический корабль?

Special for Rurousha. ^^

I couldn't resist checking the Asian studies section.
Не устояла перед книгами об Азии.

A Malagasy-Russian dictionary.

 Books in Chinese.
Книги на китайском.

In Korean.
На корейском.

In JapaneseRain something? Help!
 На японскомЧто-то про дождь?

Many cozy places there.
Много уютных местечек.

More books!
И ещё книжки!

This Russian-Japanese dictionary smells just like old library books from my childhood. ^^
Этот словарь пах прям как старые библиотечные книги из детства. :)

These loan words made me giggle. :) Taun hatto (town hat), daun hiru (down hill), daun hiru taan (down hill turn). The Japanese seem to love borrowing English words.
Похихикала над этими словами. :) Таун хатто (town hat), даун хиру (down hill), даун хиру таан (down hill turn). Японцы, мне кажется, обожают заимствовать английские слова.

Pretty interesting.
Весьма занятно.

  3. The book title you can't read is 雨の日文庫. I know you know the first three kanji. The last two = 文庫 = library or book collection. So it means "a library for a rainy day". As far as I know, it's a series of school textbooks. :)
